Rebecca graduated from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) with a Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Therapy in 1996. Since graduating she has worked for ACC in a Case Manager role, private practice specialising in workplace assessment and rehabilitation, Disability Resource Centre working with people who have a range of disabilities and injuries and sourcing assistive equipment and accessible environments for people with physical limitations. She then left to work in the UK, where she spent a year working in a hospital with acute neurology patients and in the community for Social Services assessing people’s needs for community supports. She returned to NZ and worked in residential centre for people with brain injury, assisting them to transition from 24hour support to living in the community independently.
Rebecca started her own private practice in 2004 and completed her Post Graduate Diploma of Rehabilitation in 2005, focusing on vocational rehabilitation and working with family/whanau. She started Rehab Partners with Kim in 2005, born out of a mutual interest in neurology and vocational rehabilitation and a passion for working with clients and their family/ whanau in the community.
Rebecca is AMPS trained and has completed ongoing professional development in spinal cord injury, visual dysfunction and concussion. She has worked with the Brain Injury Association of NZ in a consultancy basis. She continues to work as an Occupational Therapist, Director and Supervisor of other Occupational Therapists.
